What is QuiText?

QuiText is a programme of SMS messages designed to help guide you through the process of quitting smoking. It deals initially with cravings and some of the physical discomforts often encountered by smokers quitting. The programme then begins to focus more on the psychological aspects of quitting smoking such as triggers and "mind games" that smokers tend to go through. Finally the messages provide some help on preparing for life without cigarettes.

How much does it cost?

QuiText costs $20 Australian Dollars or the equivalent in your local currency. QuiText currently accepts payments in Australian Dollar, British Pound, Czech Koruna, Danish Kroner, Euro, Hungarian Forint, New Zealand Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krona and Swiss Franc.

What is the Quit Date?

The Quit Date is the day you quit smoking on. This is the first day on which you will not smoke any cigarettes.

How should I enter my phone number?

Please enter your phone number in local format. You do not need to enter your international country code and you do not need to remove the leading zero.

When will I start receiving my text messages?

You will receive your first text message on your Quit Date at the delivery time you set up in your account.

Can I change the time I receive my messages?

Yes. Simply log into your account and choose a new delivery time. Please note, depending on the delivery time changes you make, you may experience a time between messages longer than 24 hours.

How do I stop my messages?

To stop receiving your text messages you must log into your account and click the cancel my subscription link.

Can I change my phone number?

Yes. If you change your phone number simply log into you account and enter the new number. All messages from that time onwards will be delivered to the new number.

What if I go on holiday?

If you go on holiday in the same time zone you do not need to make any changes to your account. If you go on holiday to a different time zone, simply log into your account and select the time zone in which you will be on holiday. You do not need to change the delivery time as this is the local time and you do not need to change the country you reside in.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

If your phone is lost or stolen you may update your account with a new phone number. Please note that early cancellation of your QuiText programme will incur cancellation charges.

Why do you need to know what country I live in?

We use the country you live in to detect the international dialling code for your phone number. The country you reside in is also used to optimise the sign up process.

What should I do if I can't get QuiText where I live?

QuiText is planning to reach most countries with it's service throughout 2007. Subscribe to our news feed to find out when your country becomes available.

Why do my messages show a different delivery time?

The timestamp on text messages is unfortunately not a feature controlled by QuiText. The timestamp with the delivery time is set by the international carrier responsible for the delivery of your message. Most carriers will use GMT time for the timestamp, but they may also attempt to set the timezone for the destination country, or alternatively use their own local time.

Will QuiText stop me smoking?

One person and one person only will ultimately stop you smoking. That's you. The QuiText programme will help keep you aware of the quitting process at a time during which you will potentially be under extra stress. We all know that quitting smoking can be difficult but we believe that QuiText support can really make a difference between success and failure.

Can I use Nicotine Replacement Therapies with QuiText?

The QuiText programme is designed for people who opt to go 'cold turkey'. The early part of the programme focusses on nicotine withdrawal and cravings and as such is not suitable for people using nicotine patches or gum etc. If you opt to use nicotine replacement therapies to quit please do not use QuiText.

What if I start smoking during the programme?

Firstly, we'll be very cross with you! Quitting smoking means exactly that. No more cigarettes. It is important that smokers are prepared to quit beforehand but if you relapse then you may cancel your QuiText programme as set out in our terms and conditions.

How do I change my account settings?

You can change your account settings at any time by logging into to your account.

What happens if I forget my password?

If you forget your password please go to the Forgotten Password page and enter the email address you signed up with. Your password will then be emailed to you.

Will QuiText send me promotional material to my phone or email address?

QuiText will never send any material other than service text messages to your mobile phone. We do however reserve the right to send you information occasionally to your email address with service updates, special offers or promotional content which we think you may find helpful.
