QuiText was featured in Shape magazine's "Live Healthy News" this month alongside other companies using text messaging to provide health based services to personal mobile phones.

QuiText on CNN

QuiText appeared on CNN's American Morning recently in a piece covering the how cell phone technology is being used to address health issues in new an innovative ways. During the article, CNN correspondent Veronica De La Cruz talked about text messaging being used for medical alerts, prescription reminders and, of course, help with quitting smoking. With the ever growing popularity of text messages in the United States De La Cruz stated, "It's fast. It's cheap. It's private" and here at QuiText, we couldn't agree more.

Mobile quit smoking support for Keitai Culture

QuiText is excited to announce the launch of it's quit smoking text message service in Japan from today. After success in Europe and Australasia expansion into Japan means that the QuiText service is now available to an additional 33 million smokers through their mobile phones.

QuiText is now available on all major Japanese mobile networks, KDDI, NTT DoCoMo, Softbank and Vodafone K.K. (J-Phone). At QuiText we're very excited about the prospects of working together to help Japanese smokers quit and are very much looking forward to providing futher mobile products and services in the future.

UK National No Smoking Day - March 12th

So, the New Year is well and truly under way at the usual alarming pace. Smoking is still going on the world over causing untold misery and yet, quietly, persistently and with great determination, individuals are breaking free from their nicotine addictions and giving up. If you managed to quit this year - Good On You!! If you quit, and relapsed, don't worry and certainly don't beat yourself up over it. If you didn't try to quit at all, well, now is your chance to make up for being tardy.

Every year National No Smoking Day runs in the UK and every year over a million smokers will band together in a collective push to try and kick cigarettes out of their lives. March is springtime in the UK. A time of renewal, hope and plenty of fresh air. Just what tired rusty old smokers need to inspire them to quit the habit.

So, now that we've let you know about it and given you a great reason for quitting, it's up to you to make the effort. You can find out more about the QuiText support program here or alternatively, get on the Internet and make a plan.

Happy New Year!

Well, it's that traditional "stubbing out" time of year again when millions of smokers world-wide will hang up their lighters and embark on a smoke free life (or rather, revert back to one as we like to think here at QuiText).

Great news in France and Germany too with smoking bans coming into force in both countries which will undoubtedly have a massive impact on the health of their citizens across all ages! So a special "Bon Chance!" and "Viel Glück!" goes out to them all!

If we could give you all one "New Year Quit Tip" it would be to treat every day the same as you did January 1st!! It's easy to muster the enthusiasm to quit smoking at New Year. When one year ends and another begins we naturally look to the future with optimism and a new perspective. But what do you do on January 17th when it's cold and rainy and you're going mad for a smoke? Pretend it's January the 1st again, take a deep breath, tell yourself you can do it and move on.

Here's to a healthy 2008 for one and all!

Website And Service Enhancements

It's been a busy few months here at QuiText again with improvements being made to our site and service and a new toy for ex-smokers being released!

First of all, we've taken on board some feedback you've made and simplified the look and feel of the main site. We're very happy with the result and think it's much cleaner and brighter - exactly what we hope your futures will be once you kick those cigs out! One addition we particularly like is our tips page with lots of useful (and proven!) tips and tricks for making your quit process that little bit easier.

Also, we've upgraded our text message delivery systems so you can now schedule your text to arrive to the nearest 15 minutes! We feel this is an important improvement especially for those of you who are trying to get delivery of your message just before an important trigger situation such as a morning coffee break. Delivery at 9:45am just before your 10:00 coffee break is much more potent that having it arrive at 8:00am when most of us are still "coming round"...


And finally, in keeping with our tradition of providing free stuff, just for fun, we've just released our first Google Gadget! This is a new Quit Smoking Meter which you can add to your Google home page to keep track of all your achievements since quitting!

QuiText Service covers Europe

Following on from early successes QuiText is very excited to announce the extension of it's quit smoking text message service to all the countries of Europe as from today. Expanded coverage from 5 to over 50 countries means that the mobile quit smoking support can now be sent over more than 180 mobile networks and can reach of approximately 200 million smokers.

Integration with Europe's mobile network operators forms a key component in the foundation on which future products and services for mobile consumers will be built. At QuiText we envisage mobile technology becoming a much more integral part of everyday life and are looking forward to the exciting opportunities this will bring in helping smokers quit and embark on healthy lifestyles.
